Happy Labor Day, gang!
It’s a reward for a year’s worth of hard work. Throughout the United States, as the sun goes up, people all over will be lighting up grills, cooking things over open flame, and heading out to their nearest park, body of water, or just their backyard to celebrate everyone’s favorite bribe, Labor Day! So, from all of us hard-workers here at PopFi to all of you hard workers out there in Internet Cyberville, here’s to a happy, restful, relaxing, and safe Labor Day.
In many ways, this is a weird Labor Day weekend. The traditional 21-hour telethon? It’s pretty much over; Jerry Lewis has been replaced, the MDA Labor Day telethon was cut to 6 hours, and it seems that a tradition is dying. After 100+ degree weather the past few days, today is rainy and a bit cold, so you won’t even be able to go swimming (at least here in Kentucky). Still, it’s nice to have a break from the heat, the weather will be nice enough, and I’m looking forward to luxuriating in the thrill of a day off.
Well, mostly off.
