Every day, I see people jogging along sidewalks. They’re concentrating on their run, they’re wearing dark glasses and have iPods stuffed into their ears, and they’re generally not paying attention while they’re running. They’re showing a lot of faith in the drivers around them, and big stars are just as guilty as normal folks. Hollywood actress and Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon is no exception, either to the jogging or the lack of situation awareness. While crossing at a crosswalk, Reese Witherspoon was hit by a car while jogging in Santa Monica, California.
While jogging in the area of 20th Street and Georgina Avenue at about 11 AM, Witherspoon was minding her own business when she was hit by a car driven by an 84-year-old woman. Fortunately for Witherspoon and the woman in question, Reese Witherspoon was not seriously injured. According to her spokesperson, Nancy Ryder, Reese is at home and resting comfortably to recover from her bumps and bruises. Meanwhile, the driver was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian at a crosswalk and released.
