Krrraw! Spoing! Crash! (Those are Angry Birds sound-effects.)
Angry Birds is, without a doubt, the most successful app in the history of apps. It has been downloaded millions of times across a variety of platforms, and it seems as though the Angry Birds sensation will never end. It’s everywhere, and having finally played it, I can see why. Angry Birds is an international phenomenon, and China is a hotbed of Angry Birds fandom. At Window on the World in Changsha, China, a live-action Angry Birds attraction has been arrested as part of a “stress-reducing festival” in WotW’s American Zone. Visitors use a giant slingshot to hurl plush bird toys at inflatable pig balloons.
You’d think that Rovio, the makers of Angry Birds, would protest and sue the park. However, that’s not the case. Rovio is actually in negotiations with Window of the World in an attempt to make the Angry Birds game a permanent fixture at the park, rather than a temporary installation. Giant Angry Birds is probably the most normal attraction at any Chinese theme park, as China tends to enjoy weird theme parks, like the all-dwarf city of Kunming.
