Target is no stranger to teaming up with fashionistas. They’re worked with all kinds of major labels on their merchandise, which brings haute couture down to Hot Pocket prices. People love it, but they’ve never loved it the way they loved Target’s newest team-up. The fashion house Missoni has released a limited collection from now until October 22 at Target, and it was so popular that it did the unthinkable. The response for the Missoni launch crashed Target’s website.
“We had around 30 to 40 people at the doors this morning,” said Ashley Keinath, a manager at Target Greatland in Michigan, whose store was mostly sold out of Missoni merchandise after an hour. “There were guests who had multiple carts with multiple items. … All day, the team was talking about how it felt like Christmas, the day after Thanksgiving.”
Not knowing what Missoni clothes are or what they looks like, I went to Target’s website to find out. Guess what? It’s STILL down! Looks like I won’t be learning about fashion today; I guess that’s okay with me, since I prefer to dress like a 14-year-old goth. Whatever Missoni’s thing might be, it has to be better than robotic cat ears and the Snuggie, so I’m for it.
