Well, that was quick, wasn’t it? Much like Jerry Springer in years past, Los Angeles Lakers forward Ron Artest, currently known as Metta World Peace, might have set a record for futility last night on Dancing With The Stars. The locked-out NBA player turned dancing star found himself on the wrong side of a 14-point score for his first dance, the cha cha cha, and was promptly eliminated. Metta World Peace (Ron Artest) is the first person out on Dancing With The Stars.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmUllwPu3HgThe problem with basketball players is that, while they’re athletic, they’re not graceful. Even those with the best footwork are still a little awkward in their very tall bodies, and while Metta World Peace isn’t a giant, he’s still very tall and by now he’s got bad knees thanks to all the time he’s spent running up and down the basketball court. Given Ron Artest’s general lack of grace in his personal life, it’s not surprising that he’d be a little slow-footed on the dance floor. Looks like he should stick to selling teammate Lamar Odom’s perfume line.
