See that horrible pink liquid in what looks like a normal Pepsi bottle? Well, hold your nose for this story, because that’s a Pepsi that tastes like carbonated breakfast. For once, turning something pink isn’t a breast cancer awareness thing; Pepsi Japan’s Pepsi Pink is actually a carbonated strawberry milk flavored take on Pepsi. Seriously, strawberry milk Pepsi.
I know it sounds terrible, but let’s be honest, this is Japan. They love terrible food there; if Suntory–Pepsi’s Japanese distributor–thinks it will sell, it will probably sell. After all, this is the country where they put fried eggs on their McDonald’s hamburgers, want to put pizza on the moon, and invented everyone’s favorite, the pancake-flavored milkshake.
After all, this is Japan’s winter party season, and that means it’s time for Pepsi to roll out a new seasonal variant. Pepsi Pink is only the latest in a series of weird Pepsi flavors rolled out for the holiday season, including Pepsi Caribbean Gold, Pepsi Baobab, and Pepsi Ice Cucumber. All this talk of weird drinks makes me want to Pepsi Vomit.
