Phonenix Jones found himself on the wrong side of the law. The Seattle, Washington man, one of the United States’ most famous citizen superheroes and the founder of the Rain City Superhero Movement, was on the streets fighting crime when he saw a group attacking a man. Phoenix Jones rushed into battle, breaking up the fight and giving the attacked man time to get away. That’s when Seattle’s finest swooped in and Phoenix Jones was arrested.
The eight people in the group maintain they were dancing and having a good time. Jones maintains they were stomping and attacking a man who was on the ground in the midst of a fight. It’s their word versus Jones’ word. Fortunately, the New York Daily News has video of the fight and Jones’ actions (as Jones was being tailed by freelance journalist Ryan McNamee), so maybe police will determine who is right from that. Warning: the video is long, shaky, and has NSFW language.

He committed a crime, an assault against these individuals. That’s against the law.”
So what do you think? Is Phoenix Jones a masked nutjob, a crime fighting hero, or both? After reviewing the tape, it does look like a fight was going on, so he should probably avoid any charges under Good Samaritan laws. Hopefully he’s not just charging into crowds of random people to dispense vigilante justice where it is not needed.
