When nature and humanity collide the result is often crazy and sometimes dangerous.
Whether it’s a surfer standing on the back of a shark, a woman punching a bear to save her dachshund or firemen rescuing a drunken elk trapped in an apple tree, unusual circumstances abound.
There was another case of Mother Nature’s creatures coming into contact with man during an offroad bicycling race in South Africa. Mountain biker Evan Van Der Spuy was peddling his way along the marked path through a wildlife park when a hartebeest charged him and knocked him off his bike. Another rider trailing behind captured the collision between the 16 year old and the antelope that can grow up to 350 pounds.
According to the Washington Post, Van Der Spuy spent a night in a hospital, but doesn’t remember the accident. His broken helmet and the video is all the evidence he needs to let him know the crash really happened.
