Well, the bad news has broken.  The marriage of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humpheries is now officially ending after only 72 days together.  Married on August 20 in a lavish ceremony broadcast by E! as a two-day TV special dubbed “Kim’s Fairytale Wedding,” the fairytale has already met its unhappy ending.  Just when you thought marriage was meant to last forever, something like this happens and it shakes your faith in the foundations of television nuptials between a reality TV star and an NBA bench warmer.

Here’s Kim K Superstar‘s take on the failure of her fake marriage:  “After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage.  I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision.  I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don’t work out as planned.  We remain friends and wish each other the best.”

However, Kris Humpheries has a different take on the dissolving of his union, which might explain just why the couple is getting divorced after less 72 days:  “I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce.  I’m committed to this marriage and everything this covenant represents.  I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make it work.”

So THAT’s the problem with their relationship!  Kris Humpheries apparently didn’t realize it was just a special for E! and actually thought he was legitimately getting married!  Well, here’s hoping she signed a prenuptial agreement, so she’ll protect her TV fortune from that gold-digging husband of hers.
