Occupy Wall Street is on the march in NYC.
Occupy Wall Street now enters its second month. To celebrate, the protesters that started the whole Occupy movement are planning a day of action, including a “Shut Down Wall Street” breakfast, protesting at subway stations, and generally being a big old nuisance to the people of New York City in an attempt to get their message out. Let it never be said that these people give up easily, because just days ago, the NYPD cleared out the OWS home base in Zuccotti Park. Some of the footage of that assault by the police was captured on film. Cue the great video mash-up of Occupy Wall Street arrests set to Frank Sinatra belting out “New York New York,” shall we?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhQCpXM-Sm4It doesn’t seem to matter what you do. Tear gas only makes them fight more. Arresting prominent supporters only seems to make them bolder. About 200 of the protesters were arrested on Wednesday, as you can see above. It doesn’t look like this thing is going to go away any time soon, but I imagine it won’t be too long before the cold weather puts a damper on the protesting fun and the bored college kid-type of protester goes to protest somewhere warm.
