Obama takes a victory lap post-SOTU 2012.
Did you watch the State of the Union Address last night? If you’re anything like me, you didn’t. After all, Obama’s made this kind of speech on a regular basis since he got elected, and most people hate it when their television schedule gets upset by a stupid political thing, so like a lot of Americans I didn’t bother watching. Thankfully, we don’t have to watch, because CBS News has pulled 10 highlights from 2012’s State of the Union Address.
This way, you can get the high points without having to do any thinking for yourself; it’s perfect!
At one point, I would have watched the whole thing and even paid attention during it, but these days? Meh. I’m tired of politics, I’m tired of primaries, and I’m tired of people repeating speeches over and over when they know they can’t actually change anything or make any of the promised improvements actually happen without a ton of dumb luck on their side.
So, unless President Obama breaks the seal on his podium or something, I’m not going to bother with paying attention. I’ll just read the highlights. Or just read Highlights for Children.
