So THAT’S why they all look like they’re having fun! A bag containing 35.5 pounds of cocaine in false notebooks was intercepted in the UN mail room. The bag, stamped with a fake-looking UN symbol, is believed to have ended up in New York from Mexico City via Cincinnati. Inside the bag were lots of hollowed-out notebooks, each filled to the brim with bags of cocaine. Man, someone just got their weekend ruined, didn’t they?
“In my humble opinion this was the work of narcotics traffickers that were trying to ship something into the United States and their plan must have gone wrong,” said UN undersecretary-general for safety and security Gregory Starr, a master of understatement.
Either that, or someone’s cocaine delivery got intercepted by UN security before it could get to the person looking to cut it and sell it to his fellow ambassadors. The UN is rife with corruption; could there also be a UN drug ring? The notebooks come in and the roses go out and no one’s the wiser.
