Tom Selleck is in no mood for your crap.
Do you have mustache, or are you a mustache fan? Well, then I have a film festival for you! It is called the Stache Pag, and it’s a mustache-centric pageant and film festival in Portland, Maine. The 2012 Stache Pag has drawn film festival submissions from as far away as Norway, and last year’s event drew 450 people. Not bad for a gathering that started as friends getting together!
“It’s just about men expressing themselves,” said Nick Callanan of No Unbrella Media, one of the organizers of the five-year-old film festival.
The rules for the Stache Pag are simple. The short films must be 8 minutes or under in length, and must either feature a main character with facial hair or be about facial hair. As for the pageant, it will cover a wide variety of mustaches, from the Tom Selleck to the walrus, with the films being screened before the mustache pageants. The event’s proceeds will go to charities, including Northeast Historic Film (a film preservation organization), MENSK (an arts support organization), and My Stache Fights Cancer (which obviously fights cancer).
All they need to do is get Ron Swanson to be their special guest, and I think they’ll have a huge hit on their faces.
