Sheriff Joe Arpaio has long been called America’s toughest sheriff.  From his Maricopa County, Arizona offices, he oversees some very interesting jail policies, such as hot pink uniforms and television privileges being connected to exercise.  He’s also one of the biggest anti-illegal immigration crusaders around (which is why the Justice Department is investigating him as we speak).  Despite his fame and controversy, he’s still a law enforcement officer serving Maricopa County, and it was at the request of his constituents that he launched an investigation into President Barack Obama’s birth certificate.  Sheriff Joe Arpaio says Obama’s birth certificate is a lie.

“A 6-month-long investigation conducted by my cold case posse has led me to believe there is probably cause to believe that President Barack Obama’s long-form birth certificate … is a computer-generated fraud,” said the Maricopa County sheriff in a a news conference; Arpaio formed a five-man posse of investigators to investigate Obama’s citizenship.  “I want to make this perfectly clear.  I am not accusing the sitting president of the United States of committing a crime.  But there remain a lot of questions which beg for answers and we intend to move forward with this investigation in pursuit of those answers.”

Just when you thought a story was dead, it has to come back from the grave.  Is Obama’s birth certificate real?  Probably.  Even if it’s not real and he was born in Kenya or Cuba or Hell, I don’t really care anymore; I just want this story to go away.  So long as one of his parents was an American citizen (that would be his mother), I’m sure he’s allowed to be President, so just let it go already!
