Gallagher has postponed his upcoming melon-smashing.

Apparently, Gallagher is still a thing, and still out there working the comedy clubs at age 65, well after falling from the heights of fame he hit in the 80’s.  For all I know, he’s still going out, telling jokes, and smashing things with a hammer, and bless him for not changing, because that’s awesome.  However, he is of retirement age, and that comes with some problems that most people have trouble with.  For Gallagher, that’s heart problems as a result of spending decades on the road, eating bad food and working in a stressful industry.  Gallagher suffered a heart attack shortly before a show at Hat Trick, a comedy club in Lewisburg, Texas.

“We will not know the outcome until sometime tomorrow,” said Gallagher’s promotional manager, Christine Scherrer.  “His family is with him and Hat Tricks has been unbelievable with the help and support with everything.”

Gallagher is in stable condition at the moment, and he is resting at an unnamed Dallas hospital.  His shows for the week in Texas, Oklahoma, and Oregon have been postponed until a more definite prognosis is confirmed.  Here’s hoping he recovers quickly.
