It’s that one day of the year when everyone claims an ethnicity that possibly isn’t their own. The blarney flows as frequently as green beer and Lucky Charms is everyone’s favorite cereal.
Yep. It’s St. Patrick’s Day.
Unlike the offensive Old Navy shirts pulled off the shelves, the Kiss Me, I’m Irish T-shirts get pulled out of the mothballs and donned for that once-a-year mega party. If it wasn’t enough that March Madness is going on in arenas and on couches all across America, the rest of the nation will be going green. And not in a “save the environment“, recycling (unless you count turning beer back into water) kind of way. If you don’t plan on watching basketball all day and night, tune into SyFy. The network is airing a marathon of Leprechaun movies. I don’t know if the network will sneak in any security video footage of the bank-robbing leprechaun or the leprechaun who cavorted through a grocery store parking lot though.
So let’s all raise a giant mug of beer, whether it’s green or not, and celebrate together. If you don’t know any Irish toasts, try remembering the song below and sharing it with your partying friends. Everyone might be a little smarter by the end of the night if you do.
