The future Mrs. Hemsworth.

Miley Cyrus has been dating Liam Hemsworth (brother of Thor star Chris Hemsworth, one of The Expendables in The Expendables 2, AND the star of The Hunger Games) since 2008, which is an eternity in Hollywood time.  Now, the two are no longer dating.  Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have become engaged to be married.  Turns out  Hannah Montana is all grown up now.  Who knew?

“I’m so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam,” said Cyrus, 19, to People Magazine.  Meanwhile, Hemsworth, 22, discussed their relationship with Details Magazine back in February:  “She makes me really happy.  When you start (filming), you want to be professional, but when you’re filming those scenes with someone and pretending to love them, you’re not human if you don’t feel something.”

Speaking of filming, the two had their meet-cute on the set of the 2009 movie The Last Song.  They broke up in 2010, but were back together by the time 2011 rolled around.  Hemsworth proposed to Cyrus (born Destiny Hope Cyrus but legally Miley Ray Cyrus since  2008) on May 31.  Her engagement ring is a 18k gold art nouveau-style ring with a 3.5 carat diamond and carved diamond floral motifs, according to Los Angeles’ Neil Lane Jewelry, who say the ring dates to the 19th Century.
