Honey Badger does care about a drug-free future
Last season, the LSU Tigers only lost one game: the national championship game against the Alabama Crimson Tide. They were looking to repeat a trip to the national title game, and their hopes rested firmly on the shoulders of 5’8 defensive back and punt returner Tyrann Mathieu, AKA The Honey Badger. Then, the Honey Badger got thrown off the team for drug problems and things looked bleak, both for him and for LSU coach Les Miles. Now, it looks like being kicked off the team is the wake-up call Matthieu needed. Rather than transferring to a different school, Tyrann Mathieu is going to enter drug rehab and take care of his problem.
Mathieu has entered the Right Step rehabilitation center in Houston, Texas, where former NBA player John Lucas will serve as his drug counselor, the Mathieu family has said. Lucas and Right Step have refused to comment, but I have to say if the news is true? Good for you, Tyrann Mathieu. I’m glad to see that he’s taking responsibility for his actions and is making steps to get his life back together. If he never plays another down for LSU (Les Miles has refused to comment on his potential future with the team, other than to say he won’t play this year), then he’s doing the right thing for himself, his family, and his future.
