The 991-series Porsche 911 Carrera 4 looks, and is, awesome.
When it comes to the most luxurious of luxury automobiles, it’s Porsche or nothing for a lot of drivers. A Porsche is a sign that you’ve made it, and some people will do anything for a Porsche if only to say they had one for a little while. Porsche has unveiled the 2013 model of the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 991 series, an all-wheel-drive sports car that promises improved performance and greater fuel economy. The 2013-model 911 Cabriolet also promises to have rear-biased all-wheel-drive as well, meaning Porsche is dedicated to the AWD concept.
Porsche is rapidly becoming a company concerned with looks, performance, and being green. Tesla Motors pushed them to produce a green 918, and now they’re going for the road-hugging AWD to add to their reputation for extremely good handling. I can’t help but wonder what Ferdinand Porsche would think about AWD if he were still alive. I imagine he would be in favor of anything that might make his cars better, given Porsche’s historic embrace of all the bells and whistles of modern cars and their manufacturing.
