When it comes to Labor Day cookouts, one casino took it to an extreme. So extreme, in fact, they shattered a Guinness World Record in the process. At the Black Bear Casino Resort in Carlton, Minnesota, casino workers spent most of Sunday cooking over a giant grill. What were they preparing? A feast fit for a giant or the Burger King himself. A casino cooked a 2014-pound bacon cheeseburger, setting a world record for the world’s largest hamburger. The previous record was a paltry 881 pounds.
For the record, the one-ton hamburger contained 60 pounds of bacon, 50 pounds of lettuce, 50 pounds of onions, 40 pounds of pickles, and 40 pounds of cheese. It cooked for a staggering 4 hours to cook and was so large it had to be flipped by a crane. The patty was 10 feet in diameter. Just think, the record in 2010 was a paltry 210 pounds!
Guinness World Records observe Philip Robertson, who verified the new record, said that the burger was the result of “remarkable teamwork” and added that the massive bacon cheeseburger “actually tastes really good.” Just looking at it makes my jaw hurt!
