Move over, Giant George, you’ve been supplanted as the world’s tallest dog. Great Danes are usually the tallest dog breed you’ll see out in the real world, but there’s a slight difference between your average Great Dane and the truly greatest of Great Danes just might be Zeus. Standing 44 inches tall at the shoulder and an impressive 7’4 when up on his hind legs, Zeus the Great Dane is the new tallest dog in the world. The difference between George and Zeus is only an inch in height; George is 43 inches tall.
Every two weeks, Zeus goes through a 30-pound bag of dog food and is so tall he can drink from the sink without having to stretch, as you see above. He weights 155 pounds, but I imagine as he gets older, he’ll gain a little more weight. Zeus is owned by Kevin and Denise Doorlag of Otsego, Michigan. Here’s hoping Zeus, Giant George, and Boo Boo (the world’s smallest dog) can all get together and have a play session.
Maybe the Guinness World Records crew can make that happen!
