Levi’s jeans made from recycled plastic bottles.
Plastic is one of the most versatile products that humans have ever managed to create. You can find plastic in everything from building materials to bras, and every day the uses of plastic increase. Now, you’ll even find plastic in your new pair of blue jeans, but it’s not just any plastic. Levi’s has introduced their Waste<Less line of jeans made from recycled plastic bottles.
The jeans aren’t entirely plastic, but Levi’s plans on using 3.5 million plastic PET bottles in their jeans collection, with an average of 8 plastic bottles per pair of jeans. The jeans will be launching in January at Levi’s stores and online at Levi.com, with retail prices falling between $69 to $128. The men’s line, available globally, will feature both Levi’s 511 skinny jeans, Levi’s 504 straight fit jeans, and the Levi’s denim jacket. The women’s line, available in the US and Europe, will be Levi’s “Boyfriend” style skinny jeans.
The jeans will include recycled green and brown drink bottles, clear water bottles, and black plastic food trays.
