There have been lots of strange things falling from the skies. While hundreds of fish falling in a desert are weird, a mass event isn’t quite as strange to me as a single incident. For example, a shark decided to go golfing at a San Juan Capistrano, California, golf course. Of course, it wasn’t a 1600-pound dead shark, but a living, wriggling, unhappy live shark! A single 2-pound leopard shark fell from the sky onto the fairway at San Juan Hills Golf Club.
“He went above and beyond,” said director of club operations Melissa McCormack of course employee Bryan Stizer, whose quick thinking saved the shark’s proverbial bacon. “We knew we had to get it to the ocean as fast as possible. When Brian put it in the water, it didn’t move, but then it flipped and took off.”
Apparently Stizer put together some homemade salt water in the bucket in which they put the shark, then they returned it to the ocean. Glad to hear that the story has a happy ending for everyone except for the hungry bird that dropped its shark lunch onto the golf course.
