Madonna is nothing if not an outspoken singer who loves a good controversy. In between her bizarre Super Bowl appearance and her bizarre recent appearances on her MDNA tour, Madonna has been getting a whole lot of attention for a singer her age, flashing her breasts, pointing guns at the audience, and now endorsing a presidential candidate. Madonna was booed and fans walked out after the singer promoted Barack Obama’s presidential candidacy.
“Who’s registered to vote? I don’t care who you vote for as long as you vote for Obama.” When fans began to boo, Madge followed up with, “Seriously, I don’t care who you vote for … Do not take this privilege for granted. Go vote.”
You’d think that a Madonna concert in New Orleans, Louisiana would be the best place in the world to shill for Obama, even better than Reddit due to the city’s left-leaning nature and the extremely left-leaning nature of a Madonna concert. However, that was apparently not the case, as there were even some fans walking out after Madonna’s “get out the vote” moment. As Nicki Minaj found out after endorsing Mitt Romney, politics and music don’t really mix these days.
