Petter Kverneng, a 20-year-old man from Norway, has had a crush on Cathrine Johansen since they were high school students together. Two years after graduation, that crush has not gone away. In fact, it’s intensified, but Petter has come up with a way to get that crush turned into a real relationship. The bet is a night of passion for one million Facebook likes. Cathrine accepted the bet, and Petter went to work. After a million Facebook likes, Petter Kverneng has won the sex bet he made with his high school crush.
The whole thing kind of feels like a scam. After all, they’re not exactly going to prove they made good on their bet, and if they have proof I definitely don’t want to see it. Plus, like Kverneng said, he was inspired by a previous Facebook likes stunt, so odds are this one is a stunt too. If it’s not, then good for him I guess, but you’d think he’d want to consummate things with his crush because he earned it, not because he got a million strangers to click a check box on Facebook.
Then again, they’ve been friends for a long time, and maybe this is just the kind of stunt he needed to pull off to get out of the Friend Zone. Either that, or this is the impetus she’s needed to confess her true feelings for her longtime friend. Or it’s a scam. I’m still leaning towards scam, because this isn’t an 80’s movie and if she wanted a real accomplishment, she would have made it 100 million Facebook likes.
