It’s beginning to look a lot like festival season. In recent weeks, the line-ups for Coachella and Hangout have been released; yesterday afternoon was Bonnaroo day. The headlining acts and the bulk of the music was announced for 2013’s edition of the Bonnaroo music festival during a press conference featuring Weird Al, Portugal the Man, Mike Birbiglia and Eugene Mirman, and a lot of fan interactions. Bonnaroo will take place on July 13 through July 16 in Manchester, Tennessee.
Headlining the festival will be a collection of living legends, as well as one newcomer. Paul McCartney (the real one) will be taking the stage in Manchester during the four-day event for a rare festival appearance. Joining Sir Paul will be Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Mumford & Sons, Wilco, R. Kelly, Bjork, The Wu-Tang Clan, Pretty Lights, and a whole lot more. As for the comedy tent, Daniel Tosh will be heading up a loaded line of comics. Even Weird Al Yankovic will make a performing appearance after hosting BLAM!
It seems like a really loaded festival. It’s pretty tempting, too; even though I hate the idea of camping out in the middle of nowhere for 4 days, there’s a ton of great acts happening for those willing to undertake the effort to see them.
