Once upon a time, Colonel Sanders himself traveled around the country to sample the wares at his franchise restaurants. If the food was not up to the Colonel’s high standards, he’d go into the restaurant during work hours and personally cook the food to make sure that it was up to what he wanted from his restaurants. If that meant closing the restaurant, so be it. These days, there’s not a steady hand guiding the ship at KFC, but they still have standards. At a KFC in Johnson City, Tennessee, some KFC employees were fired after photos of them licking the food were posted on Facebook.
“The franchisee’s investigation confirmed the photos were taken after the restaurant was closed and none of the food was served,” said KFC spokesman Rick Maynard.
The high school student in the pictures was fired, as was the employee who took the pictures and didn’t stop the stupidity. As for the rest of the employees at the location, they were apparently retrained. The franchisee apparently took immediate action in the wake of the pictures and prevented this viral picture from becoming a viral infection among customers.
