Jennifer Lawrence tripped on her way to accepting her Best Actress Oscar.
Hollywood’s night of celebrating itself was last night, and if you couldn’t make it through the 3-plus hour telecast, that’s okay. Here’s the complete list of Oscar winners courtesy of the IMDB. The big winner last night was Life of Pi, which took home four Oscars, including Best Director for Ang Lee. Not far behind were Argo and Les Miserables, both of which took home three awards each. All in all, six movies took home multiple Oscars, including Adele for the theme from Skyfall and Quentin Tarantino for Best Original Script for Django Unchained.
Of course, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the biggest win of the night. That would be Jennifer Lawrence picking up the Best Actress award for her performance in Silver Linings Playbook. I haven’t seen the movie, but that doesn’t matter because she’s from my home town and it’s always nice for a fellow Louisvillain to get some kind of national attention. Speaking of Kentucky, Argo (produced by Kentuckian George Clooney) won Best Picture, making up for the snub of Ben Affleck for Best Director (won by Ang Lee); Daniel Day-Lewis won Best Actor for his incredible portrait of Kentucky-born President Abraham Lincoln in Spielberg’s Lincoln.
