Fight fight fight! The Warriors brawl with The Pacers.
With six minutes remaining in the fourth quarter and the Indiana Pacers leading 95-85, the Golden State Warriors were fighting hard for a comeback win. Sometimes that desire to win can manifest itself in frustration, and frustrations spilled over into violence at Indianapolis’s Bankers Life Fieldhouse. During the Pacers-Warriors game, a brawl between players spilled into the front rows of fans. Fortunately, a Malice at the Palace-style riot didn’t break out, probably because it happened in Indianapolis and not Detroit. Feast your eyes upon the fight as it happened.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPPusxkuhMUThe incident started when two things happened almost at the same time. Warriors center Andris Biedrins fouled Pacers forward David West during a shot. At the same time, Pacers center Roy Hibbert and Warriors forward David Lee got tangled up. Lee shoved Hibbert away, Hibbert shoved back, the two got into it, and then players descended onto the fray, led by Stephen Curry, with Warriors coach Michael Malone trying to break up the fray. Basketball can be high-scoring and graceful; this was the exact opposite.
All in all, multiple players were assessed technical fouls. Hibbert was tossed from the game with two fouls, while fellow Pacer David West was also given a technical. Warriors players David Lee, Stephen Curry, and Klay Thompson were also given technical fouls for their troubles. The six total technicals offset, and no one got to shoot any foul shots while Hibbert was the only player tossed. Look for him to be getting a suspension for his troubles soon. The Pacers eventually won the game over the Warriors 108-97.
