In the movie Anchorman, the character Ron Burgandy was proud of his many leather-bound books. Now, he’ll be writing a book of his own, despite just barely being able to read off the teleprompter. In a movie designed to hype the upcoming sequel Anchorman: The Legend Continues, Random House imprint Crown Archetype will be releasing a memoir by Ron Burgandy. The book will be called Let Me Off at the Top! and will go into great detail about Ron Burgandy’s life, loves, and the adventures of the Channel 4 News Team in their beautiful home of San Diego.
The book won’t be released until November 19, but Let Me Off at the Top is already available for preorder on Amazon.com and no doubt at our nation’s finest bookstores and jazz flute performance venues. However, one thing it apparently won’t have is involvement from Adam McKay and Will Ferrell, the two men who brought Ron Burgandy to life. Still, as fictional character stories go, Ron Burgandy’s tale has to be a fascinating one, if only to hear about how he became best friends with Baxter.
