Last time, when Apple was supposed to launch the iPhone 5, they launched the iPhone 4S. Unsurprisingly, every iPhone has amazing sales at launch, and the 4S was no different. Now, the rumor mill is churning and Apple is at the center once again. (I guess that would make it a cider press moreso than a rumor mill. Either way.) Rumor has it that Apple will be launching two new iPhones on September 10. The rumor says there’s going to be an updated iPhone 5S (or iPhone 6) and an updated iPhone 5C, a cheaper model designed to replace older iPhone 4s and 5s. No more will Apple sell last year’s models at cheap prices; now, they’re making a cheap version of this year’s model for the poors.
However, it’s not the launch of a new iPhone that’s getting all the attention, it’s the color of the new iPhone. Supposedly, Apple is preparing to offer a third color of iPhone, with gold joining black and white in the iPhone line up. Given the incredible popularity of after-market iPhones that have been turned gold, and gold cases for iPhones, and gold in general, it makes good business sense (especially in Asia). I think any new color is a good idea, because black and white are more than a little boring, even if they look clean and pretty.
