Every move that Angelina Jolie does attracts a firestorm of media attention, from her medical issues to her family situation.  However, once upon a time, she was an actress more than anything else, and it appears that Angelina Jolie the actress might be making waves for her movie situation if the Internet is to be believed.  The trailer for Disney’s Maleficent has debuted, and it looks pretty amazing.  Here’s the trailer; feast your eyes upon it!

Maleficent is the story of Sleeping Beauty (the 1959 Disney animated classic that introduced Aurora and Maleficent to generations of children) just inverted slightly.  Rather than casting Aurora as the hero, Maleficent is the subject matter.  In this story, we’ll find out just how Maleficent turns from good to evil and what causes her to place a curse on Aurora as played by Elle Fanning.  (Young Aurora will be played by Angelina Jolie’s daughter Vivienne.)

The movie is due May 30, 2014, just in time for the summer season.  It is directed by Robert Stromberg and written by Paul Dini, Linda Woolverton, and John Lee Hancock.
