It seems like months ago that Jay Leno made his final appearance on the Tonight Show, doesn’t it? Given the interruption of the Winter Olympics in Sochi and the necessary requirement of Jimmy Fallon to prepare his new version of the Tonight Show in New York City, the break seems longer. It’s only been 10 or so days, though! Indeed, last night Jimmy Fallon made his debut on the Tonight Show in a star-studded show that displayed both Fallon’s likability and his ability to craft viral video sensations while not straying terribly far from the traditional late-night talk show format.
Namely, Jimmy had the help of 14 celebrity friends in one of the funniest bits of the night. Fallon opens by saying his friend, who he doesn’t name, owes him $100 for saying he’d never be the host of the Tonight Show. Cue the parade of celebrities, one after the other: Robert DeNiro, Tina Fey, Joe Namath, Rudy Giuliani, Mariah Carey, Tracy Morgan, Joan Rivers, Kim Kardashian, Seth Rogen, Lindsey Lohan, Sarah Jessica Parker, Mike Tyson, Lady Gaga, and Stephen Colbert.
