The Simpsons, Lego-style.
When you’re one of the longest-running shows in television history, there’s not many places where you can go. After a certain time, all the plots have been exhausted and all the fun trips have been taken, but those rules really don’t apply to animated television. If you want to go to space, you go to space. If you want to go to Legos, you turn your characters into Legos. The Simpsons is going Lego in Sunday’s episode, “Brick Like Me.” Here’s the trailer!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYGSpOfIr9YIt will be the 550th episode of the show’s run and their first journey into Lego-dom, which is far different from Legoland. The Simpsons have previously been in 3D, in computer animation, on the big-screen, and in puppet form, but this is their first brick trip. Call it a tie-in with the wildly successful Lego Movie, call it a tie-in for the upcoming Simpsons Lego sets, call it just dumb fun. Either way, I’m looking forward to it. It doesn’t look like it’s going to be up to the par of the big-screen Lego experience, but it looks like it’ll be a lot of fun anyway. Any time you can reinvent the familiar, I’m all for it.
