…Kevin Love, that is! The Minnesota Timberwolves star forward/center/nearly 7-foot-tall three-point shooter and certified double-double machine that is also known by mortals as Kevin Love is going to be moving to a new destination and getting a new position in the process. Kevin Love will be joining the Cleveland Cavaliers to help spread the floor for one LeBron James.
In exchange for the three-time All-NBA player who averaged 26 points and 12.5 rebounds last year, Cleveland gives up a lot of promise but not a lot of performance. Top draft pick Andrew Wiggins will be departing Cleveland when the deal is finalized later this months, and going along with him will be last year’s first-round draft pick Anthony Bennett and a future first-round draft pick that will hopefully be a low one thanks to the return of King James and the addition of the Love Machine.
Of course, since the deal won’t be official until later in the month, either team can back out. The deal also required Kevin Love to waive the last year of his contract from Minnesota and sign a contract extension for 5 years worth over $120 million, but that should be pretty easy to talk him into doing.
