If Neal Panschow looks like the kind of guy that throws bombs at the cops, that’s because he is.
It’s a scene out of the latest comic book movie. Police giving chase to a mad driver, who speeds along with one hand on the wheel while throwing bombs out the window with the other. Except it’s not something from the minds at Marvel, it’s something that’s happening in real life in Clackamas and Multnomah counties near Portland, Oregon. The mad bomber’s name is allegedly Neal Panschow, and he’s giving Oregon police fits. During a police chase, Neal Panschow reportedly threw four pipe bombs out the window before successfully escaping the authorities. Turns out after you throw a few explosives, the cops wisely decide not to push matters any further.
This isn’t Panschow’s first brush with authorities. He has a long criminal record, a history of running from police, and the cops believe he’s led police on several other high-speed chases in recent weeks, though without the benefit of his Fear and Loathing-style trunk arsenal. He was last seen driving a 2002 silver Honda Civic with two doors and police say that if you see him, call 911 immediately because he’s armed and dangerous. Apprehending armed fugitives isn’t a job for the general public, even if they have superhero-style names.
