It’s always bad to punch someone in the face, but when you get caught on video punching someone in the face? Unless you’re a cop or a famous athlete involved in a game, you’re in for trouble. Even if you’re a Grammy-nominated musician with one of 2001’s biggest musical hits under your belt. While performing at Biloxi, Mississippi’s Mardi Gras parade, rapper Afroman punched a woman who got up on stage. And, even worse, it was caught on video.

To his credit, he looks very surprised by just who he hit, but that didn’t make a difference to authorties. They pulled the plug on the show, and security immediately took him outside where he was put into police custody.
“There was three wrongs in the situation. All I want to do is right my wrong,” said Afroman, who says that he was being heckled by an audience member and attributes the punch to mistaken identity. “I thought the girls had already left the stage and after hearing this guy for a few songs, I thought it was him.” He added, “I didn’t get a chance to eat dinner of medicate myself, so I was even more anxious than normal. Everyone knows I love my fans. I get to shows early just to ineract with the people that love my music.”
