Prison is not a nice place, and for certain criminals, it’s a nightmare.  If you’re famous, or you hurt children, well… you’re just looking for trouble in jail, and trouble tends to find you, no matter how well prepared for the big house you are.  See also famous criminal Jared Fogle, currently serving 15 years in federal prison outside Littleton, Colorado.  Disgraced Subway pitchman and convicted pedophile Jared Fogle was attacked and beaten by a fellow inmate.

The attacker was a 60-year-old inmate named Steven J. Nigg, who is currently in Federal Correctional Institution, Englewood, on gun charges.  According to TMZ, who jumped on the store, Nigg pushed Fogle down and then attacked him with a barrage of punches to the face.  Fogle suffered a swollen face and a bloody nose, while Nigg apparently cut his left hand beating Fogle about the head and face.  So, Jared isn’t much of a fighter, that much is clear.

Fortunately, no one snuck a knife into the prison in a Subway sandwich.  It could have been a lot worse.  And since the fight was in the yard, and not somewhere more private, it could have easily been much, much worse for Fogle.
