I am a huge evangelist for Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim line of programming. Even when they let me down by bringing in more life action crap, I’m usually the first in line to watch their new cartoons and, thankfully, they’ve launched a service that will make it even easier for me to pluck the gems from their programming lineup. It’s a personalized DVD service. For $20, you get 110 minutes and the ability to pick just about any episode of any program with any custom menu, artwork, and name you might want.
I’m at the Adult Swim Shop Custom DVD menu right now, playing around with the options, and I have to say it’s a pretty decent set-up. There aren’t as many choices as for building my own chocolate bar, but for a TV network, they’ve done a great job in opening up the vault for programs they have the rights to offer on DVD. It’s a shame they don’t (yet) have the rights to their complete network history, but that will come in time.
