Do blondes have more fun? Did Tony Soprano die? What is the meaning of life? Those are all good questions, but good luck figuring out an answer. If you’re the search engine Ask (or Ask Jeeves), then you’ve been asked these questions millions of times since the search engine debuted in 2000. Designed to help answer questions in simple, question-type format without the hassle of keywords, search engine Ask.com has compiled their top 10 list of unanswerable questions to celebrate its first decade in business.
Most of the questions are the standard imponderables that have puzzled philosophers, scientists, and blondes for generations. Some of the other ones, like the Tony Soprano question, stem from more modern events. For Soprano, it’s the finale of The Sopranos in which Tony may, or may not, be getting rubbed out by his rivals in the mob lifestyle. The open-ended ending of the show caused a huge controversy at the time, and lead to a massive spike in Soprano-related questions for Ask (and everyone else).
Here’s a good question for Ask: How is it you guys are getting beaten so badly by Google, Yahoo, and Bing?
