20 Internet Millionaires Under 30

Posted 1/11/2008 2:16 pm by Elizabeth Yerger and Kurt

mark1.jpgHave you ever asked yourself, “If there are so many millionaires out there, why not me?” Me too. Sure, I’m not a 65-year-old leader in the industry world, but this list of the Top 20 Internet millionaires under 30 proves my point.

Turns out you don’t have to be an actor or music artist to strike it big. The Internet is basically the diamond in the rough for new ideas, and these young businesspeople took advantage of it.

Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook.com is at the top of the list with $700 million. As a Harvard college student, he founded the social networking site from his own dorm room. And he’s only 23!

Another booming Internet entrepreneur is Chad Hurly, creator of Youtube.com with $85 million dollars. He is 30-years-old, and is the founder of one of (if not the biggest) provider of videos on the Internet. He not only created this site, but also designed the current logo of the e-commerce business, PayPal.

Ever searched for interesting art to put as your desktop background? For me, DeviantArt was always an excellent site. With $75M, Angelo Sotira is number 5 on the list with his website that allows artists-alike to share their talent. Born in Greece in 1981, he also was a CEO of a portal for an MP3 music company he later sold.

Other great names on the list include Kevin Rose, founder of Digg.com with 31M, and Ryan Block of Engadget with 20M.

    The Battle For Old Baldy

Posted 3/10/2010 10:30 am by Ron Hogan

It’s one of the weirdest custody battles I’ve ever read about, and it’s not even over a living person.  It’s not over a dead person, either.  It’s the stuffed, preserved head of a horse.
Old Baldy, a horse, was the pride of General George Meade, a hero of the Union Army during the Civil […]

Green Buildings Aren’t Worth The Cost?

Posted 3/10/2010 10:00 am by Ron Hogan

It’s a little known fact, but there’s a nasty little secret about green building.  All the ecological housing isn’t as good or as energy efficient as simply remodeling older homes.  For one thing, there’s the huge environmental impact of destroying the existing building.  Then there’s all the raw materials wasted by trashing a perfectly good, […]

New Yankee Stadium To Host College Football Bowl Games

Posted 3/10/2010 8:30 am by Ron Hogan

One of the traditions of the old Yankee Stadium that didn’t seem to last too long was the bowl game.  That’s right; there was a little-known college football bowl game that took place at Yankee Stadium called the Gotham Bowl, and there were also a few random bowl games before that one took place.  The […]

    Your UFO Is On Fire

Posted 3/10/2010 8:00 am by Ron Hogan

When you think of alien spacecraft, you never think of the space equivalent of a used Toyota.  You think of something sleek and fast, not something belching smoke and overheating.  Yet, for skywatchers over Eureka, California, they believe a jalopy UFO is just what they saw.  I mean, it was belching fire and smoke, little […]

While it might seem a little strange given the ratings struggles of spin-off Caprica, the remake of Battlestar Galactica continues to get more and more popular as more and more fans discover it.  Some people (me) didn’t catch the show during its original run and refused to hop on board the bandwagon, only to become […]
