I’ll admit it; I got to the computer game long after everyone else. I’ve got friends who, to this day, can navigate the DOS prompt blindfolded. Meanwhile, the only keyboard control that I use on a daily basis is CTRL V for cutting and pasting stuff. I am totally not a keyboard ninja.
Feel free to laugh at me if you pass the keyboard ninja productivity test. Bear in mind that in order to be a ninja, you have to score over 100 points across a variety of email programs (Outlook and Google’s GMail), internet browsers (Firefox and Internet Explorer), operating systems (Apple OSX and Windows), feed readers (Google Reader), AutoHotKey (which I’d never really heard of until now, so I totally fail at ninjatude), and the ubiquitous Microsoft Office shortcuts (Word, which I use daily, and Excel). Being a complete and total mouse addict, it’s quite possible I scored in negative numbers.
But still, if you’re looking for a way to increase your productivity regardless of your operating system or browser of choice, a list of incredibly handy shortcuts like this one is exactly what the doctor ordered, or possibly what the ninja master commands. I’m not quite sure how ninja hierarchy works, I just know that they’re mammals who fly, fight all the time, and whose sole purpose is to flip out and kill people. That’s what the official Ninja web page tells me, anyway.
In order to keep a shuriken out of my skull, I’m going to start working on those Google Reader shortcuts as we speak. You never see a ninja coming until it’s too late.
