Are you the kind of person that can’t eat a meal without some sort of kick to it? Some people can’t go to the dinner table without bringing along a bottle of Tabasco sauce. Any chili pepper fans out there? If so, I dare you to get your hands on one of these chilies. From the Cayenne variety to the Bhut Jolokia… these are for alpha males only.
The Bhut Jolokia chili is claimed to be the hottest in the world. For crying out loud, its name means “poison chili pepper.” I didn’t even know nature could produce something so dangerous sounding, but I’m sure there are folks out there that eat them for breakfast.
I’d rather take the Thai pepper myself. The article says it will quickly burn, but fades slowly. But some people would no doubt need the hot remedies listed at the bottom to quench these chili peppers. Milk always did the trick for me (so did yogurt). But I wonder what role these hot heads would play in the history of American warfare as told with food…
Bon appetite!
