Who needs a nightlight when the moon can shine brightly in any room?

Designer Sotirios Papadopoulos has created a completely unique piece of furniture that doubles as art. It won’t be available at IKEA or Target. The sideboard entitled “Fullmoon” is one of only 24 pieces produced by the artist.

To get the cool glow effect at night Papadopoulos came up with his own concoction using a powder that is modified into a gelcoat-PVC and applied to the furniture.

This moon art will be on display in Milan during an exhibition of creations inspired by the EMO movement. It’s called “dEMOsign.”

This isn’t the first time modern art and the moon have come together. Believe it or not, there’s a tiny pop art museum including the works of artists like Andy Warhol carried to the lunar surface and left there by NASA.
