Something caffeinated this way comes.
As many of you caffeine-addicts may already know, and as Yes But No But Yes reports, Starbucks announced a couple weeks ago that something HUGE was going down April 8th in Manhattan’s Bryant Park. We have no idea what it is nor, but it’s going down tomorrow at noon.
According to the email pictured below, the coffee corporation invites people who cannot make it to Bryant Park to enter any Starbucks at noon to get in on the party.
My guess is that they’re giving away free coffee. And if my guess is right, that is going to be a serious letdown after all this hype.
Starbucks has been proclaiming for months now that they’re on a new path, ready to make huge life-altering changes to their company. Rumors floated around that they would start offering 99 cent cups of joe to compete with McDonald’s new line of gourmet coffee drinks, but that quickly got canned. The same goes for their plan to launch a line of breakfast sandwiches.
At least they are taking the opinions of their customers seriously. They’ve launched a national campaign to get the word of the people called “My Starbucks Idea.” Think of it as a sort of Digg for coffee-drinkers. You can upload an idea, leave it to be voted on by your peers and wait to see if the big shots at Starbucks think it will fly. Some of the ideas are already labeled as being “Under Review,” meaning yours could be on its way to implementation.
