It’s amazing what a little makeup, flattering lighting and some photoshop work can do to a snapshot.

Nobody knows this better than celebrities who get arrested and then have their mugshots plastered all over the Internet. No makeup, red glassy eyes, unkempt hair.

There are several classics. The grumpy Glen Campbell, the disheveled Nick Nolte in his Hawaiian shirt and James Brown, who apparently swapped in his royal cape for what looks like a bathrobe.

Celebrities aren’t the only ones who can look pretty goofy immediately after a ride in the back seat of a cop car.

Many regular Joes have also looked less than their finest in the incarceration Kodak moment.

Top 10 Kid has a post filled with, you guessed it, 10 mugshots of the common man criminal. What ties these 10 together is their unusual wardrobe choices. This 10-person crime wave is also a crime against fashion. Here’s one example below.

However, I’m guessing the angry transvestite arrested for smashing his car into a Lane Bryant store probably had a “smashing” mugshot.
