The economy is getting worse, not better. When Hugh Hefner has to cut back on girlfriends, then you know the world is in trouble. Fortunately, it’s not all sob stories and misery. While you sit at home, waiting for unemployment to run out and the bill collector to throw you out of your house onto the street, you can pass the time and play Layoff, the exciting game where you get to take over the role of The Man and stick it to the drones that keep your monstrous company running!
The game is a whole lot of fun, like an incredibly soul-crushing version of Bejeweled. I mean, I love Bejeweled, and I like the amusingly sad little stories of the people you’re laying off, but if I read them too closely, I start to get actually depressed. I’m really enjoying the game, but the fact that it reflects the real world so well is kind of bumming me out.
