As the weather turns colder, my thoughts turn to breakfast. During the summer months, I have little interest in traditional breakfast foods, but as months get colder and mornings stay dark longer, I start to crave the comforts of breakfast: biscuits, toast, oatmeal, and of course, bacon. Like everyone else on the Internet, I love bacon. That’s why when I saw this recipe for bacon jam, I was immediately won over. Finally, I can have the taste of bacon combined with the spreadability of preserves!
Could that stuff be any better? The only thing that I think might make it better is to combine the bacon with grape or strawberry jam for one-stop spreading on toast and biscuits. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it! I might get myself some materials and give this bacon spread a shot this weekend when I have some cooking time. I love a good meat-based condiment.
