Normally, Virgin England is a metal crafter. He makes fantasy and exotic knives and blades, like the kind you see sold on late-night shopping infomercials, but significantly better because his are made of real bone, leather, and Damascus steel (even exotic materials like fossils and ray skin) rather than pot metal and vinyl. However, when he created the Chugach Dragon in Chugach National Forest, Alaska, he went above and beyond the call of duty. This giant, gorgeous sculpture of a fallen dragon was made from real bone.
Now, I’m a huge fantasy nerd, but I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t think a giant dragon skeleton clutching a sword isn’t awesome. If I had a panel van, that would totally be airbrushed on the side of it. I couldn’t possibly think of a better use for our national parks than to play host to art installations like that one, can you?
