In a frightening scenario equivalent to The Day the Music Died, the band Weezer’s tour bus hit a patch of black ice and wrecked just outside of Amsterdam, New York, on the way to a concert in Boston.  While no one was killed, several people were hurt including band lead singer Rivers Cuomo (who broke some ribs and has internal bleeding), his personal assistant (who broke ribs and cracked vertebrae).  However, it could have been much worse, as traveling with Rivers and his assistant were Cuomo’s wife and baby daughter.  Scary!

Rivers remains in the hospital for observation, but I’m sure he and everyone else involved are thankful no one was seriously injured.  Still, any accident involving a baby or small child is pretty frightening, especially for the parents of said child.  Given how bad the bus looks, it’s a miracle nobody was seriously injured.
